New beginnings often bring excitement, anticipation, and sometimes trepidation. As we begin our journey into 2023, I have to say I’m grateful to be part of the Facial Pain Association, an organization dedicated to educating, supporting, and advocating for those living with facial pain.
As we face a new year, the FPA has several exciting initiatives designed to reach more people affected by facial pain earlier in their journey, including:
- Increasing awareness among dentists and other medical professionals who don’t specialize in neuropathic facial pain
- Expanding our reach to inform even more people about available resources and educational opportunities
- Increasing our visibility in younger and more diverse communities
- Improving access to research and launching our patient registry
In my brief time here as CEO, it has become clear that it takes all of us to face facial pain. Our dedicated staff, our committed Board of Directors and Medical Advisory Board, and our steadfast corps of volunteers work with us to grow our vision from a set of goals into realities that truly make a difference in the facial pain community.
This year, we’ll take on these initiatives while listening to this community to hear what YOU need. We’ll find areas where we fall short and look to fill the gaps. We’ll work to expand our network of experts, so you have the most up-to-date information. We’ll always keep you at the forefront of our efforts.
I look forward to working with you and everyone who cares about the facial pain community to achieve our objectives in 2023. I hope you’ll join us. You make a significant difference, and we are grateful for you.
Best wishes,
