Raymond F. Sekula Jr., MD is a Professor of Neurological Surgery at the Columbia University Department of Neurological Surgery. He has published more than 100 scientific articles and is a co-editor of the textbook Microvascular Decompression Surgery, a comprehensive look at MVD surgery, widely accepted as an effective remedy for cranial nerve hyperexcitability disorders including hemifacial spasm, trigeminal neuralgia, and glossopharyngeal neuralgia. Dr. Sekula is the chair of the Medical Advisory Board of the Facial Pain Association.

Jonathan Greenberg, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Harvard Medical School and a Research Staff Psychologist at Massachusetts General Hospital, who most recently received a grant from the National Institute of Dental & Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) for chronic orofacial pain research. He speaks about the mental health aspects of living with facial pain as we head into Facial Pain Awareness Month and the holiday season.
Anne Brazer Ciemnecki, MA is a third-generation woman with trigeminal neuropathic pain. She is Secretary of the Facial Pain Association’s Board of Directors, a peer mentor, and a support group leader. Ms. Ciemnecki co-edited Facial Pain A 21st Century Guide: For People with Trigeminal Neuropathic Pain, with Jeffrey A. Brown, MD, FACS (2020). She discusses the launch of the FPA’s second book, Facial Pain: Living Well with Neuropathic Facial Pain, including trigeminal neuralgia, which also she co-edited.
Melissa Baumbick, CEO of the Facial Pain Association, speaks about Facial Pain Awareness Month, and Brandi Underwood, FPA’s Manager of Development, Research and Advocacy, serves as moderator for the webinar.
